Androscoggin County Commissioner Joins Libertarian Party

Zakk Maher: Maine’s First Libertarian in a Partisan Position

The Libertarian Party of Maine is pleased to announce that Androscoggin  County Commissioner Zakk Maher has formally enrolled in the Libertarian Party.  In doing so, he becomes Maine's first elected Libertarian in a partisan position.  In his official release Mr. Maher cited "a platform that respects the sovereignty of the individual in all matters of life, love and morality."  We are proud to welcome him as our newest member and look forward to his voice and experience as we work to move Maine forward.  The full text of his official release can be found here.

The Libertarian Party is the third largest party in the United States and is the fourth officially recognized party in Maine.  Founded on the core tenets of individual sovereignty and an adherence to the non-aggression principle, it is the fastest growing party in the nation.  September is national #ReRegister month where we encourage people to officially join us by changing their voter registration to Libertarian, thus helping to secure ballot access and official recognition.
